The city of Odesa is actively engaged in the installation of cogeneration units provided by GIZ Ukraine as part of the SUR project.

Mr. Ralf Grotenhoff, responsible for the construction component of the project “Strengthening the Resilience of Cities in the Provision of Urban Communities’ Livelihoods in Ukraine” (SUR), visited the city for monitoring purposes.

“These meetings are systematic. Our common goal is to ensure a continuous supply of heat and electricity during crisis conditions. We are also beginning to explore further cooperation within new projects,” noted Odesa's Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdnyakova.

Employees of KP “TMO” are working tirelessly on the installation of new cogeneration units. This process is complex and requires significant resources and close attention from leading specialists. The team is making every effort to ensure that the next heating season begins with the new equipment.

The support for Odesa within the SUR project is part of the German transitional assistance aimed at enhancing the energy independence of Ukrainian communities. This not only prepares the city for winter challenges but also lays the groundwork for long-term changes in the urban livelihood system.
