Famous boxer Vasyl Lomachenko has declared his retirement from professional boxing.

He made this announcement on his Facebook page.

In his usual manner, Lomachenko thanked God, his father and trainer, family, team, and even the USA. However, he did not mention Ukraine, his supporters, or the ongoing war in his message.

It is worth noting that he announced his retirement to fans in Russian.

"Every boxer faces the day when he hangs up his gloves. That day has come," he stated.

Lomachenko's last fight was against George Kambosos, where the Ukrainian claimed the IBF lightweight title. He has not stepped into the ring since then.

Reports have surfaced about his health issues, particularly a back injury.

Recently, there was active speculation about his possible return to the ring, with several boxers expressing interest in a potential match against Lomachenko, including Keyshawn Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and even Russian Abdulayev.

Vasyl Lomachenko has been involved in controversial situations multiple times. Recently, he met with the metropolitan of the UOC MP and previously invested money in a Russian company. Lomachenko has also expressed dissatisfaction with the metropolitan of the PCU, Epiphanius.
