The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, inspected the restoration of the building at Prince Volodymyr the Great Street, 134, the site of the tragic event in 2024.
Last year, emergency and stabilization works were carried out, preserving the integrity of the apartments in the right part of the entrance and renovating common areas. The heating system was fully modernized, allowing residents of the surviving apartments to return to their homes. Residents of the destroyed apartments received housing certificates and utilized the eRestoration program.
Based on engineering and geodetic studies, a reconstruction project was developed. The protruding remnants of the left side of the entrance were dismantled, and the external wall will be repaired according to current construction norms. The foundation will be strengthened with a monolithic slab, ensuring the building's reliability under challenging conditions.
“In the left section, intact rooms from the destroyed apartments remain, which we will unite and use as a maneuverable housing fund. We plan to complete their renovation with the support of charitable organizations,” said Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
As reported by the mayor's advisor on coordinating work with non-governmental organizations, Veronika Etnarovich, external and interior doors have already been purchased. Charitable organizations have also provided builders with materials for interior renovation.
