In Odesa, the quality of artesian water in public wells is monitored by the State Institution «Odesa Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine».
According to an agreement between the Communal Enterprise «Service Center» and the State Institution «ODESA CDC MOH», water testing for consumers is conducted monthly.
Based on microbiological research results, as of October 2025, the purified drinking water from public wells meets the hygienic standards of DSanPin 2.2.4-171-10.
Research protocols are posted at all public wells, and anyone interested can review them.
Background Information
There are 17 public wells in Odesa, with drilling depths ranging from 111 to 149 meters. All wells are managed by the Communal Enterprise «Service Center». According to estimates by the «Service Center», around 45,000 residents benefit from these public wells daily. The average water consumption at one well is 8 – 12 cubic meters. Water from these wells is accessible to everyone.
