The municipal enterprise «City Roads» in Odesa is consistently engaged in maintaining the rainwater drainage systems to keep them functional.

Currently, workers are focused on the Romanian Canal. Previously, similar maintenance was carried out on the Kuyalnytsky and Schelakivskiy canals, as well as the Buffer Pond.

The Buffer Pond, Romanian Canal, and Kuyalnytsky canals are specifically designed structures for the drainage of stormwater and meltwater from the city streets.

Using specialized machinery, the municipal team clears the channels and pond of grass, reeds, debris, and sludge. Particular emphasis is placed on cleaning the most silted areas that are connected to the drainage systems of residential homes.

Regular cleaning of storm drains and sewer collectors throughout the city is also performed. Heavy equipment such as excavators, graders, trucks, and high-pressure hydraulic units are utilized for flushing pipes. In cases of heavy rainfall, such maintenance is conducted on an emergency basis.
