The Ukrainian Cup of Fencing took place from October 15 to 20 in Kyiv, marking the first significant competition of the 2025-2026 season for adults.
This tournament, held at the CSK ZSU sports complex, gathered 345 athletes (153 women and 192 men).
The champion of the Ukrainian Cup is Alina Komashchuk from Odesa (coaches – Oleksandr Vasyutin, Nikita Stolbunov), who triumphed in the final against Oleksandra Bondar from Mykolaiv, the title holder of 2023. In the semifinals, Alina defeated the current champion Daria Hontsova from Cherkasy with a score of 15:9. This marks her second victory at the Ukrainian Cup.
In the men's competition, Andriy Yahodka (coach – Oleksandr Vasyutin) won the silver medal. On his way to the finals, Andriy achieved 10 consecutive victories (6 in the pool, 4 in the main draw), but ultimately lost to Kyiv's fencer Oleksiy Statsenko with a score of 5:15. Previously, Andriy had won 8 out of the last 10 Ukrainian Cups.
