At the Odesa Museum of Genocide «Territory of Memory», a lecture was organized for teachers of social sciences in honor of the Day of Remembrance for Holodomor victims.
The event focused on the historical lessons of genocides in the 20th century within Ukraine, emphasizing their relevance in today’s context of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
Teachers were introduced to the museum's educational projects and given recommendations on how to teach the tragic events of the Holodomor to different categories of students, considering age-specific characteristics and the current realities of wartime in Ukraine.
Educators discovered lesser-known chapters of the regional history of the Holodomor in Odesa, listening to an engaging lecture rich in facts. Specific examples illustrated the signs of genocide against Ukrainian peasants in 1932-1933 and the Ukrainian national elite from 1930-1933.
Additionally, the educators explored the museum's exhibition dedicated to the theme of genocides.
