On September 27, 2024, a strategic meeting was held in Odesa, gathering representatives from the Main Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, the Southern Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, executive bodies of the Odesa City Council, and directors of communal enterprises established by the Odesa City Council.
The meeting, initiated by the Finance Department of the Odesa City Council, actively discussed ways to enhance the revenue side of the city's budget and ensure its execution in the current year.
The main topic of discussion was that collaborative efforts and establishing communication are crucial for meeting the budget expectations for 2024 and preparing a robust budget for 2025.
The meeting took place in a constructive dialogue format involving all participants, including local government representatives, tax officials, and executive services. Important issues arising during the war that hinder effective cooperation were thoroughly discussed.
Participants focused on proposals for addressing issues related to the budget's revenue component, exploring and implementing reserves, particularly emphasizing the need to update the database of taxpayers for land and real estate.
Ensuring the execution of the Odesa City Territorial Community budget will support the city's vital functions, provide rapid assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and deliver social support to defenders and their families.
Based on the outcomes of the meeting, a joint action and cooperation plan will be developed, aimed at increasing the city's budget revenues through expanding the tax base and leveraging all available resources.
