Under the procedural guidance of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office, charges have been brought against the founder and director of a construction company for illegally seizing a plot of land using forged official documents (Part 2 of Article 28, Parts 3, 4 of Article 358, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspects organized a scheme to illegally acquire a land plot of 1 hectare, which belongs to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine through the Odesa State Environmental University.
To implement their criminal plan, they used forged documents, entered false information into registers, falsified technical documentation, and involved fictitious persons.
As a result of these actions, the suspects unlawfully seized a land plot on Muscatna Street (formerly Zoya Kosmodemyanska) in Odesa, which they planned to sell for profit.
The damages caused to the state by these criminal activities are estimated at over 19 million hryvnias.
It should be noted that the damages have been fully compensated by revoking ownership rights to the mentioned land plot.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspects is being decided. Other participants in the illegal scheme are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Odesa Regional Police Department No. 1, with operational support from the UCR in the Odesa region of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
