The city of Frydek-Mistek in the Czech Republic hosted an international Combat Jiu-Jitsu championship, attracting over 300 participants from 12 European nations.

Ukraine was represented by soldier Denys Tkatchuk from the Odesa Border Guard Unit, who is part of the National Team of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Over three days, competitors showcased their skills in martial arts, demonstrating personal mastery, endurance, tactical thinking, reaction speed, and self-defense techniques.

Denys Tkatchuk performed at the level of the best European athletes, confirming his high technical and physical preparation, resilience, and fighting spirit, earning well-deserved podium finishes:

  • 2nd place in the «Full Contact» category
  • 3rd place in the «Close Contact» category.

The Ukrainian team also exhibited a high level of performance, securing first place in the team standings. “A unique aspect of this championship was the complete absence of representatives from the aggressor country, which fostered a constructive and friendly atmosphere focused on fair competition, mutual respect, and European sports values,” the statement reads.
