The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, honored participant of the 2025 Invictus Winter Games, Yevhen Kaus, by awarding him the Honorary Sign «Gratitude».
Yevhen Kaus is a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, a member of the «Federation of Marine Multisports of Ukraine» in the Odesa region, and a certified coach in rowing.
Yevhen fought on the Kherson front where he sustained injuries. After demobilization and rehabilitation, he took up powerlifting and archery, eventually becoming a rowing coach. In 2024, he and his rowing team covered a distance of 55 km, earning the silver ring FORTIS as a reward. He also participated in the national selection for the Invictus Games and joined Team Ukraine for the Invictus Games.
Yevhen Kaus represented Odesa at the first-ever Invictus Winter Games in Canada, competing in three sports: curling, biathlon, and skeleton.
This year, the Ukrainian team was the largest in the history of the Invictus Games, consisting of 35 servicemen and veterans.
