Law enforcement has apprehended a young man suspected of illegal drug distribution.
Special police unit workers discovered the suspect in the Khadjibey district while he was attempting to place «drops». At the scene, officers confiscated a packet containing a dangerous psychotropic substance, confirmed by an expert test. Additionally, eight more packages with similar contents were found. All substances have been sent for examination. Relevant information from the suspect's mobile phone has also been added to the case materials.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspect received the illegal goods from an unidentified individual he met online and distributed them through hidden locations.
«Based on sufficient evidence, we have charged the individual under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal acquisition and storage with the intent to sell particularly dangerous psychotropic substances. This crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison with property confiscation», - stated investigator Serhiy Zholonko.
The court has placed the suspect under house arrest. The channel of the prohibited substance's supply to the young man is being established.
The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Malinovsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa.
