Loss or theft of driver's documents is a situation that can happen to anyone, especially in wartime when many people are forced to leave their homes. The question arises: where to turn and what to do if the vehicle registration certificate is lost?
It is crucial to remain calm, as driver's documents can be quickly restored at any territorial service center of the MVS. If the owner cannot be present personally, they can issue a notarized power of attorney to a representative.
To restore documents, the owner or authorized person must submit a package of documents to the MVS service center:
a passport with a registration mark of residence (or an ID card);
a copy of the tax identification number registration certificate;
a police report (if the certificate was stolen).
The estimated cost is about 350 UAH for the administrative service and 540 UAH for the certificate form. The vehicle owner can choose a new license plate for their vehicle or keep the existing one. The re-registration of the vehicle and issuance of documents is done on the same day as the application. There is also the option to order an electronic vehicle registration certificate without a plastic form.
More information about vehicle re-registration services can be found on the website of the Main Service Center of the MVS.
Please remember that services are provided by prior registration in the E-Record system or at the terminal located in the service center premises.
