According to NEC "UKRENERGO", electricity consumption increases as temperatures drop. The energy system is still recovering from massive enemy attacks.
The higher the power of a device, the more electricity it consumes. A higher energy efficiency class means less energy will be used. Pay attention to the devices you purchase or turn on. This will save you money and reduce the load on the energy system.
Smart electricity savings will help avoid overloads in the energy system and potential emergencies.
Energy experts' tips for economical electricity consumption:
- Unplug devices when not in use (chargers, TV in standby mode, etc.). Even in «sleep mode», household appliances consume a lot of energy;
- Boil only the necessary amount of water — this saves time and money, and reduces kilowatts for the energy system;
- Run washing and dishwashing machines fully loaded and preferably during night hours — after the evening peak. Choose programs with lower washing temperatures;
- Use energy-saving bulbs. Don’t leave lights on in rooms where no one is present;
- Charge smartphones, laptops, power banks, etc., at night when consumption is lowest.
Energy experts also remind not to turn on multiple high-power devices simultaneously during peak consumption hours: in the morning — from 07:00 to 11:00, and in the evening — from 16:00 to 22:00.
