During a meeting on April 18, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers decided to allocate 830 million UAH for the establishment of shelters in general educational institutions.

This information was shared by Taras Melnychuk, the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada, via his Telegram channel.

“These funds will continue to support the development of shelters and ensure safe conditions in educational establishments. Funding will be directed to 15 communities, as well as the regional budgets of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Khmelnytskyi regions,” wrote Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.

He noted that the government has allocated a record 14 billion UAH for school shelters over the past two years.

It’s worth mentioning that in 2024, Kyiv allocated 2.4 billion UAH for the establishment of shelters, improving fire safety in schools, preparing them for winter, and creating educational centers for the subject “Defense of Ukraine”.
