The team «Restoration of Doors in Odessa» has undertaken the restoration of the entrance to a building located at the intersection of Ukrainian Heroes Avenue and Jewish Street.
This was reported by «Restoration of Doors in Odessa».
The building at Jewish Street 48 was constructed in 1893 according to the design of architect A. D. Todorov and was renovated in 1900-1901 by architects Yu. M. Dmytrenko and V. A. Koropovskyi for the needs of the Protection Church. It housed the apartments of the church minister and a church-parish school.
The doors of the building were in a deplorable condition.
Thus, «Restoration of Doors in Odessa» recreated missing wooden decorative elements, restored wrought iron grates, and reproduced the lost transom bar. They returned the symmetry and proportions of the doors and also the authentic bolts and handles. To protect the lower part of the leaves, brass plates were installed to safeguard the wood from moisture and mechanical damage.
