How is knowledge of English connected to the digital literacy of Ukrainians?

Recent studies show that 51% of the adult population in Ukraine possesses basic English skills, while 23% have advanced knowledge. Interestingly, proficiency in English correlates with income levels, where 52% of high-income individuals are proficient, compared to only 12% among low-income groups.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation recently unveiled findings from a 2023 study on digital literacy, focusing on the link between digital skills and English proficiency. Notably, 60.4% of Ukrainians lacking digital skills also do not know English.

English serves as a crucial tool for enhancing digital capabilities and unlocking new opportunities. Platforms like Empower and Promova offer resources for mastering English, available to Ukrainians through the Future Perfect program.
