Odessa has launched a new initiative aimed at raising children's awareness about road safety titled «Children on the Road: Be Careful!».

The primary goal of this initiative is to prevent traffic accidents among children, to cultivate skills for following road safety rules, and to engage youth in understanding safety on the streets, while also fostering a conscious attitude towards personal safety.

In the educational institutions of the Peresyp district, classes were held on topics such as «Follow the Rules - Save Your Life» and «Know the Road Signs - Avoid Trouble», where students discussed the basics of road behavior, watched educational videos, and participated in quizzes.

Additionally, exhibitions of children's drawings on themes like «Safe Country», «Attention! Children on the Road», and «Road Signs - Our Friends!» were organized.

Class teachers held discussions on «My Safe Path to Knowledge» and assisted children in creating individual safe routes to and from school.

One of the highlights for students was the opportunity to get acquainted with a police car, where they reviewed pedestrian rules with officers and solidified their knowledge of road traffic in a playful manner.

Inspectors explained the importance of using reflective materials at night in an accessible manner, as well as discussing the rules of crossing the road and using public transport.

For preschool children, thematic sessions were conducted on topics like «Attention! Children on the Road», «Know Road Signs - Avoid Trouble», and «I Am a Little Pedestrian», where they learned about pedestrian behavior and the meanings of road signs.
