Heavy rain and strong winds have caused damage to power lines in thirty settlements across the Odesa region. They promise that electricity will be restored to homes by the end of the day.
This information was provided by DTEK Odesa power networks and NEC «Ukrenergo».
Energy workers are already on-site addressing the outages in the Odesa area.
Furthermore, «Ukrenergo» reported an increase in electricity consumption over the past three days. This is attributed to cloudy weather with precipitation over a significant area of Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power stations and increases reliance on the general grid.
Yesterday, May 8, the daily peak of consumption was recorded in the evening, matching the peak level of the previous day—May 7.
«Ukrenergo» also urged for energy conservation and recommended postponing the use of high-power appliances to nighttime hours. If possible, they ask to avoid using multiple devices simultaneously until 10 PM.
