Famed Ukrainian sculptor Mikhail Reva recently held an engaging session with children, unveiling the secrets behind the creation of Odessa's sculptures.
Mikhail Reva — a prominent figure in Odessa’s art scene, is not only a sculptor but also an architect and graphic artist. His works adorn not just Odessa but various places around the globe. Notable pieces include the "12th Chair" in the City Garden, the "Angel of Mercy" near Litvak Rehabilitation Center, the "Tree of Love," and the fountain "Beginning of Beginnings" in Greek Park.
The artist is the founder of the Reva Foundation, a recipient of numerous international awards, and a winner of the Babyn Yar Memorial Museum project.
“Sculptures preserve the memory of people, events, and eras; they are markers of time that shape the character of urban spaces. Such moments — meeting with the younger generation — are an investment in culture as a way of thinking,” emphasized Mikhail Reva.
During the workshop tour, children learned about the process of creating sculptures, explored the materials used by the artist, and discovered his current projects.
