On December 23, 2024, the conference titled «Odessa Collections» took place at the #ARTODESSA gallery in the Summer Theater of the City Garden.
This event brought together Odessa's collectors, cultural scholars, and local historians.
The primary goal of the conference was to revive the tradition of the collectors' community in Odessa, facilitating active collaboration on preserving Ukraine's historical and cultural heritage.
Participants discussed topics related to the preservation of private collections, their exhibition, museification, and cataloging. A significant focus was placed on the necessity of scientific research on collections.
Speakers included: Ivan Liptuga, Felix Kochriht, Semen Kantor, Anna Golubovska, Taras Maksymiuk, Oleksandr Fridman, Serhiy Syedyh, Dmytro Khamula, Denys Mitskevych, Oleksandr Surylov, Yuliya Hurynenko, and Kateryna Pimenova.
Following the conference, a publication about collecting titled «Universe Named Odessa» is being prepared.
The conference was organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odessa City Council.
