The Odesa National University named after Mechnikov has made it into the top ten of the best universities in the country according to the «TOP-200 Ukraine 2025» ranking.

As per the new «TOP-200 Ukraine 2025» ranking, the leading position is held by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In second place is the Lviv Polytechnic, which improved its previous year’s third place status.
The Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Sikorsky stands at third place this year, after leading in 2024.
The Sumy State University occupies the fourth spot in the ranking.
Fifth place goes to the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
In sixth place is the Kharkiv National University named after I. Franko.
The seventh position is held by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
The eighth spot is awarded to the Carpathian National University named after Franko.
The Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute ranks ninth.

This “TOP-200 Ukraine” ranking has been compiled for the ninth consecutive year by the Center for International Projects “Euroeducation” along with an international group of experts from the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence.
The Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv consistently ranks among the best universities in the nation; however, last year it was second, having fallen behind the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky».
In forming this year’s «TOP-200 Ukraine 2025» ranking, the compilers took into account modern trends in higher education transformation against the backdrop of significant changes, caused by both structural reforms and the devastating impacts of the ongoing war.
