Educational institutions in Odessa are adopting alternative power sources. The full-scale invasion by Russia since early 2022 has severely damaged the energy infrastructure, leaving many public and communal organizations with unstable power supplies.

In light of frequent blackouts, solar power systems have emerged as a vital alternative for ensuring reliable electricity supply.

Thanks to the support of the Lithuanian solar energy company UAB Okata, a project for the installation of solar power systems is underway in Odessa’s lyceums No. 86, 81, 9, 62, 92, and in preschool institution «Yasla-Sadok» No. 195.

This project guarantees complete energy independence for the educational institutions, allowing them to continue the educational process even during power outages.

Moreover, harnessing solar energy will significantly reduce budget expenditures on energy resources.

Amid ongoing attacks on the energy system, the installation of solar power systems is a crucial step towards promoting the use of clean energy sources.

In the Odessa region, UAB Okata is actively developing a project for installing solar power systems, which serves as the foundation for energy independence and a safer future. The project began in August 2023 following an agreement with the Environmental Projects Management Agency under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania. The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Odessa and the Odessa region is coordinating the project.
