Since the onset of the full-scale war, the demand for blood donations in Ukraine has surged dramatically. Medical professionals at the Primary Medical and Sanitary Care Center No. 16 recognize this urgent need and have organized their eleventh collective blood donation event this week.
«Our soldiers bravely defend our country. When they are injured, we can express our gratitude by sharing our blood to save their lives. We must continue this vital support,» said the director of the center, Hanna Pavlega, who regularly donates blood and inspires her team by example.
During the event, fifteen employees of the center donated blood. One donation can save up to three lives.
This blood donation drive is part of the charitable project «Weeks of Good Deeds».
Today, as Ukraine has held the front for over three years, blood donation serves as another line of defense. It is crucial for everyone without contraindications to participate in blood donation.
Not only does blood donation save lives, but it also benefits the donor:
- prevention of cardiovascular diseases and thrombosis;
- reduction of certain cancer risks;
- overall rejuvenation of the body.
Donors are granted two additional paid days off.
