The Odesa Specialized Children's Home No. 1 hosts a palliative care unit where young patients with serious illnesses receive expert medical assistance.
The youngest child in the unit is just 1 year and 3 months old, while the oldest is 15. Most of these children are diagnosed with congenital nervous system disorders, including cerebral palsy.
The unit is equipped with modern medical facilities funded by the city budget and supported by donors.
Children receive costly treatments and specialized nutritional care at no charge and enjoy comfortable surroundings with attentive staff.
In addition to palliative care, the Children's Home provides rehabilitation services for the children.
This week, representatives from the Kyiv District Administration, Compassion Medical (USA), and the Evangelical Baptist Church “House of Prayer” visited the facility.
During the meeting, they discussed the current needs of the institution and reached an agreement on assistance in acquiring medical equipment that will significantly enhance the care for children and ease the staff's workload.
