On April 26, the Municipal Museum of Personal Collections named after O.V. Bleschunov in Odessa will open the exhibition «Restoration and Inspiration» featuring artist-restorer Inna Rusina. The exhibition will highlight her multifaceted talent, which combines high professionalism in art restoration with individual artistic vision.
This was announced by the Municipal Museum of Personal Collections in Odessa.
Inna Arkadievna Rusina was one of the founders of the Odessa branch of the National Scientific and Research Restoration Center of Ukraine and has been working there since 1987. For her significant contribution to the development of this important national center, she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, 3rd class, in 2008.
The artist has participated in exhibitions since 1979 and has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1990. Inna Rusina has taken part in international, all-Ukrainian, and regional art exhibitions. Her works are kept in the Odessa National Art Museum, the Odessa Museum of History and Local Lore, the Kirovohrad Regional Museum of Arts, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Local Lore Museum, and in private collections and galleries around the world.
The exhibition will be held in two halls:
Hall of «Restoration»
This section includes six works from the museum's collection that have been restored between 1992 and 2023 under the guidance of Inna Rusina. Each exhibit is accompanied by stands with photographs and annotations detailing the state of the work before restoration, the stages of the process, and the final result.
Today, in the conditions of martial law in Ukraine, the role of restoration centers is becoming particularly significant. Inna Rusina emphasizes that in addition to planned work, specialists are involved in assessing museum collections, evacuating, and preserving art pieces.
Exhibits must be carefully and correctly packaged to be preserved in the appropriate microclimate, — she stresses.
According to her, unlike past decades, today the field employs highly qualified personnel.
Restorers from Kharkiv have been collaborating with our center for over ten years. Previously I conducted internships for many artists aspiring to become restorers. However, artists cannot always become restorers, but restorers can be artists, — Rusina adds with a smile.
Hall of «Inspiration»
In this part of the exhibition, visitors can explore the artistic works of Inna Rusina.
Fifteen works in the genres of still life, portrait, and landscape reflect her unique style developed over years of creativity.
The artist admits that the works of Sandro Botticelli, which she saw twice at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, had a significant influence on her.
You need to see the paintings live. The impressions they evoke cannot be conveyed in words, — shares Inna Rusina.
