Once again, military personnel from the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine in Odesa participated in the important social initiative «Donor Odesa».
About twenty border guards took part in the collective blood donation, most of whom are regular blood donors. They understand well how crucial it is to maintain a blood reserve to save the lives of comrades, civilians, and anyone requiring urgent medical assistance amidst the war.
«For us, defending Ukraine involves not only combat duties but also the readiness to extend a helping hand to those fighting for their lives in hospitals,» the border guards stated.
Every blood donation can save up to three lives. Donating blood not only gives another person a chance at life but is also beneficial for the donor's health if there are no contraindications.
The «Donor Odesa» initiative has been actively involved in recruiting blood donors for civilian and military medical facilities since the onset of the full-scale war, providing over 14,000 blood donations during this time.
It is vital today for every Ukrainian who is able to donate blood to participate in this effort.
