A significant working meeting took place at the charity organization «Protez Foundation», focusing on pre-prosthetic preparation issues. Participants included veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war who use prosthetics, as well as officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and health service leaders.

The meeting began with an introduction to the work of the «Protez Foundation» prosthetic center. Attendees had the opportunity to witness the prosthetics manufacturing and adjustment processes, as well as learn about the latest rehabilitation technologies.

"The most crucial stage in the prosthetics history of our defenders is pre-prosthetic preparation, where medical professionals, social workers, and psychologists are involved,” emphasized Inna Yashchuk, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Co-founder and president of the «Protez Foundation», Yuri Aroshidze, highlighted that there are currently over 2000 individuals awaiting prosthetic fitting. Consequently, a major part of the meeting focused on discussing a multidisciplinary approach to the rehabilitation of patients following limb amputations.

“We are grateful to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and its leadership for their motivation in rehabilitating our defenders and ensuring quality prosthetics. We want our military to feel supported from the start of pre-prosthetic preparation to full recovery,” emphasized Yuri Aroshidze.

Special attention during the meeting was given to the role of social workers in the physical and psychological rehabilitation processes, as well as in facilitating the reintegration of veterans into civilian life.

Modern approaches to treating chronic pain in military personnel suffering from PTSD were also discussed. Experts shared their experiences with innovative techniques that significantly enhance patients' quality of life.

«I am extremely happy that nearly 40 of our physical therapy specialists have trained in the USA, gaining invaluable practical experience,» highlighted Inna Yashchuk.

Such meetings foster the development of an effective support system for veterans and provide a comprehensive approach to their rehabilitation and support.
