The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, met with Mr. Ralph Fuchs, the head of the Center for Liberal Modernity, and Ms. Mariluise Beck, the director for Eastern and Central Europe at the same center.

During the meeting, they discussed the current security and humanitarian situation in Odessa, as well as issues concerning internally displaced persons and cooperation with international partners.

The participants also addressed energy security and preparations for the upcoming heating season.

In collaboration with the Center for Liberal Modernity and the German agency GIZ, a project for the improvement of the park "Against Oblivion" is being implemented in Odessa.

Due to the ongoing aggression, the implementation of the project has been temporarily suspended, and the funds provided by German partners have been redirected to civilian needs: generators, diesel fuel, installation of a solar power plant on the roof of a healthcare facility, uninterruptible power supply sets for traffic lights, tactical first-aid kits, and more.

The agency also delivered humanitarian aid to Odessa, which included 2 Mercedes-Benz ambulances, 10 Mitsubishi L200 pickups, 5 Ford Transit minibuses, 2 cargo trucks, a garbage truck, tourniquets, and various kits for rescuers.

Odessa expresses its heartfelt gratitude to German partners for their ongoing support and assistance.
