Odessa authorities have successfully captured an individual responsible for setting fire to cars in an underground parking lot in the Arcadia area. The suspect was identified and detained the same day. He faces up to 10 years in prison for his actions.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police.

A few days ago, during the curfew, a man broke into the parking garage of a residential building and doused two BMW vehicles belonging to a local woman with gasoline before igniting them. The fire quickly spread to nearby BMW and Hyundai cars owned by local men. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and fortunately, no one was injured.

Authorities determined that the perpetrator is a 27-year-old resident of Mykolaiv. He was apprehended while trying to return home on a minibus. The suspect has been charged with intentional damage to property through arson. The court has ordered him to be held in custody with the possibility of bail set at 908,400 UAH. He faces a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
