From March 6 to 9, 2025, Dnipro hosted the open Muay Thai championship titled «Dnipro Star».
This year, the event was dedicated to the heroes defending our homeland.
160 athletes from various cities, including Odesa, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Berdychiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kharkiv, and clubs from Dnipropetrovsk region, gathered to compete for awards.
The main motivation for each boxer in their quest for victory was the opportunity to participate in the national championship in April, as well as the chance to join the national team.
Odesa athletes from the Odesa Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 7 won 14 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the tournament.
The winners included: Nikita Kuts, Bohdan Studnev, Kyrylo Berezovskyi, Volodymyr Trufkaky, Yelyzaveta Velykova, Diana Savotina, Oleksandr Andriushchenko, Ivan Rasputnyi, Vladislav Postnov, Tymur Katerynchak, Oleksandr Zabara, Mark Yushchuk, Pavlo Balabko, and Yelysei Shaienko.
Silver medals were awarded to: Dmytro Zanin, Kira Laryonova, Mykhailo Honcharuk, Ruslan Kravchenko, and Sviatoslav Shaienko.
Bronze medals went to Tymur Ostrovskyi and Myroslav Yakush.
The athletes were trained by coaches: Volodymyr Pishenin, Liliia Shapoval, Mykhailo Mitaki, and Mykhailo Kovalchuk.
The tournament was organized by the Dnipro City Federation of Muay Thai in collaboration with the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade.
