From October 3 to 13, 2024, Kyiv hosted the Ukrainian billiards championship for men and women with disabilities, veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and their families.
The athletes from the «Odesa-Basket» organization also participated and secured prize places in the championship.
Serhiy Kotsiuba took first place among veterans, while Valeriy Chuhuev and Dmytro Danylov achieved third places.
During a special session of the Odesa City Council, mayor Gennady Trukhanov congratulated the «Odesa-Basket» athletes on their victory.
«You are a true example of courage and spirit. Your achievements inspire us all and show that there are no barriers for those who have a goal and strive for victory,» the mayor of Odesa expressed pride in the winners' accomplishments.
Additionally, Gennady Trukhanov reminded everyone about the «Social Taxi» project, which provides free transportation in the city for people with disabilities.
«This project is an important step towards ensuring equal opportunities for all residents of Odesa. We aim to create comfortable conditions for every citizen of our city,» the mayor of Odesa stated.
