Meta has announced a new feature for the web version of WhatsApp that will make it easier for users to find and manage media files, as reported by WABetaInfo. The new media hub will serve as a centralized location for viewing all images, videos, GIFs, documents, and links sent or received in chats.
This feature, which has been spotted in the messenger's beta version, will include a searchable interface with caption support, as well as options to sort files by date and size, and provide contextual information about documents and links, including the name of the contact who sent them and the sending date. Additionally, users will be able to select multiple files at once for deletion, forwarding, or downloading.
Unlike the mobile version of WhatsApp, where media management can be cumbersome, this new web tool aims to streamline the process of searching and organizing files significantly. This feature is expected to be available in future updates, although the exact launch date is still unknown.
