On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a delegation from the Odesa region was honored to meet with Mr. Arne Frankenstein, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
The meeting was held in the context of implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, during which we discussed potential collaboration in the areas of experience exchange regarding the implementation of inclusive practices and creating accessible environments. Special attention was given to training social workers and developing innovative barrier-free spaces for various population groups.
The German side shared valuable insights on resolving conflicts arising from discrimination against persons with disabilities.
Additionally, we received assurances of support in finding partners to provide the Odesa region with specialized vehicles for transporting persons with disabilities, which is of utmost importance for our area.
We sincerely thank Mr. Arne Frankenstein and the German side for their openness to collaboration, knowledge exchange, and their commitment to working together to create a more inclusive society.
