The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has entered into a partnership with the National Semiconductor Association.

According to the statement from the Ministry, this collaboration aims to execute the Strategy for Digital Innovation Development by 2030.

The memorandum outlines the following steps for development:

  • implementing scientific research into production;
  • participating in international initiatives;
  • assisting Ukrainian companies in entering global markets;
  • supporting startups through mentoring programs and funding;
  • enhancing cybersecurity for semiconductor production systems;
  • training specialists and creating specialized educational programs.

The ministry emphasized that chips are the foundation of nearly all digital products, from smartphones to rockets. Former Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Valeria Ionan stated that developing domestic chip production is a strategic response to global challenges. "This will help reduce dependence on foreign markets and establish Ukraine as a significant player in global technology policy," said Valeria Ionan.

Today it was announced that Valeria Ionan has completed her term as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation but will continue in the team as an advisor to Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on innovation and digitalization. She mentioned that this new role will allow her to work for the state more strategically and effectively, focusing on innovation.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is considering alternative options for small-scale chip production that could be operational within 1-2 years.
