The Ukrainian government is set to initiate 5G technology testing in Lviv, Kharkiv, and Borodyanka following revisions to the existing regulations.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

“Kharkiv and Borodyanka have suffered significant destruction from shelling. It is crucial to test the technology under the most challenging conditions. Ukraine is capable of implementing innovations even amid potential supply disruptions and limited resources,” Fedorov stated.

One of the primary goals of the testing is to assess the potential of 5G in urban reconstruction.

The testing is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2025.
