On December 23, 2024, the gallery «#ARTODESSA» at the Summer Theater of the City Garden hosted an important conference titled «Odessa Collections».
This event brought together Odessa collectors, cultural experts, and local historians aiming to preserve cultural heritage.
The main goal of the conference was to revive the tradition of active collaboration among Odessa's collectors to address issues of historical and cultural preservation in Ukraine.
Participants discussed various topics, including the preservation of private collections, opportunities for exhibition, museification, and cataloging. A significant focus was placed on the necessity of scientific research into collections.
Among the speakers were Ivan Liptuga, Felix Kochrikht, Semen Kantor, Anna Golubovska, Taras Maksymiuk, Oleksandr Friedman, Serhii Sedyh, Dmytro Khamula, Denys Mitskevych, Oleksandr Surylov, Yuliia Huryneko, and Kateryna Pimenova.
As a result of the conference, a publication on collecting titled «The Universe Named Odessa» is being prepared.
The conference was organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odessa City Council.
