The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, in partnership with NVIDIA, has initiated a project aimed at establishing a national infrastructure for artificial intelligence. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
“Together with NVIDIA, a global leader in computational infrastructure for artificial intelligence, we are launching a collaborative initiative in this field. The goal is to create a sovereign state of artificial intelligence with its own infrastructure and a strong workforce,” the statement reads.
NVIDIA's expertise will facilitate the launch of innovative and secure services for the public and defense sectors.
The first joint project will be the development of Diia AI LLM — a sovereign language model tailored to Ukrainian legislation and the needs of citizens. All AI services within the “Diia” ecosystem will operate based on Diia AI LLM, including the already presented AI assistant on the portal, the future mobile assistant, and internal solutions for the government.
Under this project, Ukraine will gain access to NVIDIA's specialized software stack for developing AI products — from infrastructure to software; technical expertise that will accelerate model training and reduce costs; consulting and technical support from the NVIDIA team, including expert participation in structured workshops and architecture review sessions.
An AI Factory will be established in Ukraine — the infrastructure on which key government services utilizing artificial intelligence will operate, primarily the AI assistant in “Diia”. In the future, this infrastructure will also be used for an AI tutor in “Mriya”, and prospectively the project will focus on defense, science, and medicine.
