Google has announced new regulations for its free users of artificial intelligence tools. This was reported by 9to5Google.
According to the updated support document, the number of image generations available with the Nano Banana Pro model has been reduced from three to two per day. The company explained this decision by the high demand for the feature, noting that limits may vary and be updated daily.
The changes also affect Gemini 3 Pro. After its launch on November 18, users without a subscription were guaranteed 5 free queries per day, which matched the conditions of the previous Gemini 2.5 Pro version. Now, free access is defined as basic, and the number of daily queries may change based on load.
For those using the paid Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans, the conditions remain unchanged — 100 and 500 queries per day, respectively.
Similar restrictions have already been implemented by other companies: for instance, OpenAI delayed the launch of the image generator in ChatGPT for free users due to overwhelming popularity but later made it available.
