The European Lyceum in Odessa hosted a conference as part of the Open Educational Forum #EducationOdessa – 2023, focusing on the theme "Innovations in Education: Embracing Digital Technologies and AI".
The aim was to familiarize educators and the public with the latest digital and information technologies being implemented in educational institutions, as well as practical applications of tools like ChatGPT in teaching.
More than 200 participants attended the conference, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Institute for Educational Content Modernization, educational companies, and educators from higher education institutions and NGOs interested in adopting digital technologies in education.
The conference was opened by Iryna Stolbova, deputy director of the Odessa City Council Department of Education and Science. She outlined the core principles for integrating digital technologies into general secondary education for the 2023/2024 academic year and emphasized the importance of adhering to Ukrainian legislation when selecting digital products.
Discussion panels at the event covered topics such as:
- Digitalization of education during and after the war;
- Creating a digital educational environment;
- Utilizing digital tools in educational settings;
- Ensuring a safe modern educational environment;
- Implementing ChatGPT in educational activities.
Following the conference, a resolution was adopted highlighting the need to form a working group dedicated to the creation and maintenance of a digital educational space in Ukraine. It also suggested that developers of national educational software adhere to Ukrainian standards, legislation, personal data protection, and EU recommendations for building electronic educational environments.
Organizers of the conference included the Odessa City Council Department of Education and Science, the Institute for Educational Content Modernization, and companies offering various digital systems and tools.
