In August 2025, Odesa launched a significant cultural-digital project titled «Heritage. Digital. Odesa Opera House», funded by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and supported by the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing of the Odesa City Council.
The project aims to digitize the Odesa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, one of the city's key architectural and artistic jewels.
During the initial phase, a laser 3D scan of over 1100 points of the theater was conducted (including facades, balconies, staircases, and service areas), along with the creation of more than 4000 high-quality images for 3D modeling, panoramic shooting, and preparation of a virtual tour.
The technical execution of the project was carried out by the Lviv team Skeiron, recognized experts in the digitization of cultural heritage, who have implemented over 100 similar initiatives in Ukraine.
The digitized materials will serve as the foundation for a virtual tour of the Odesa Opera, allowing anyone from anywhere in the world to explore this unique theater, preserve its legacy for future generations, and promote the international visibility of Odesa's cultural identity.
The presentation of the project's results is scheduled for September 2025.
