From November 25 to December 10, 2024, Ukraine is hosting the annual campaign «16 Days Against Violence», joined by Odessa. The official launch took place yesterday in the City Garden.
The event featured representatives from the Executive Committee of the Odessa City Council, organizations focused on preventing domestic violence, activists, and local residents.
«The issue of violence is global, and anyone can become a witness or a victim. It is crucial to speak out and fight against violence to prevent new cases and their harmful effects», - emphasized Elena Kytayska, Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy.
During the event, specialists from mobile psychological assistance teams provided consultations for those affected by violence and distributed informational materials.
Additionally, flowers were given to women and girls as a symbol of resistance against violence.
The primary goal of the «16 Days Against Violence» campaign is to raise awareness of domestic violence issues and ensure equal rights for everyone.
The campaign is organized by the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odessa City Council.
