Recently, a delegation from the Swedish Red Cross, led by Secretary General Ulrika Modeer, visited Odesa as part of its collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The visitors toured the Psychological Support Center, which assists internally displaced persons and those affected by the conflict.

Julia Haidargi, the director of the Odesa social services center, and Lyudmila Tsvitkova, the head of the psychological support center, showcased the center's work and their fruitful cooperation with the Odesa regional organization of the Red Cross. They explained how displaced individuals receive ongoing support and take part in initiatives aimed at aiding their adaptation to new living conditions.

At the conclusion of the visit, Ulrika Modeer emphasized the significance of building local capacity to support the community.

Additional Information

The Psychological Support Center in Odesa commenced operations on December 15, 2023, following renovations funded by the city budget. Currently, it houses 266 individuals, including 97 children, 4 of whom have disabilities, as well as 38 elderly persons and 20 individuals with disabilities.

Since its opening, the center's specialists have provided 178 legal consultations, 534 psychological consultations, and 469 individual consultations for adults, along with 65 group psychological activities for children and adults.
