Energy workers from Odessa have successfully restored power infrastructure in the Kherson region following severe damage caused by Russian aggression in February. This has allowed nearly 2,000 residents of Kherson to regain electricity.

This was reported by representatives of DTEK Odessa Electric Networks.

According to the information, 26 specialists worked on restoring the infrastructure that was damaged by shelling. The teams arrived in the city in mid-March.

“The frontline was only 3 to 10 kilometers from the repair site, so the energy workers had to work in bulletproof vests and helmets, as the enemy continued to shell the city from the left bank of the Dnipro River,” the statement reads.

The specialists managed to restore three high-voltage lines and a substation to prioritize electricity supply to water supply facilities, DTEK reported.

On April 4, 2025, the Kherson CHP was hit by an FPV drone.

In the morning of April 1, 2025, another energy facility was damaged, leaving 45,000 subscribers without electricity.

On March 27, Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in Kherson and Poltava, violating ceasefire agreements. Despite previous commitments by the Kremlin to refrain from attacking energy facilities, these strikes indicate a breach of agreements.

President Zelensky stated that Ukraine will respond to such violations and called on the international community to react to Russia's actions.
