Today, November 12, one of Odessa's boiler houses had to pause operations for six hours due to chimney reconstruction.
Immediately after the previous heating season ended, the municipal enterprise «TMO» commissioned a comprehensive inspection of all chimneys. In June, a report was received indicating that one chimney required urgent repairs — at «Northern-1».
As Vice Mayor Anna Pozdnyakova noted, there are no similar examples of such work in the country, considering the height of the chimney (120 meters). To carry out the work, the company ordered a crane with a lifting capacity of 600 tons, while the crane itself weighs 970 tons.
There are only a few such cranes in Ukraine, all of which are engaged in recovery work for energy facilities after enemy shelling.
«According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be at the «TMO» facility back in August, but due to reasons beyond our control, the timelines were significantly delayed — the equipment was engaged in other critical tasks. Moreover, the level and scale of the work require highly qualified specialists, and their availability has proven challenging in our realities. We are working considering the circumstances we cannot influence,» Anna Pozdnyakova mentioned.
«TMO» apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that it is doing everything possible to ensure a stable and reliable heating supply for Odessa residents throughout the heating season.
