The Odesa regional Emergency Medical Center has reported several cases of children being poisoned due to accidental ingestion of household chemicals and medications in recent weeks.

«Children left unattended may accidentally drink cleaning products, open medicine bottles, or handle hazardous substances. Such situations can lead to serious consequences, including chemical burns and hospitalizations», as stated in the report.

For instance, a 3-year-old boy ingested a cleaning product, resulting in a chemical burn to his mouth and hospitalization. A 1-year and 8-month-old girl bit into an eye drop bottle and was admitted to the hospital with acute oral poisoning. Another one-year-old girl accidentally swallowed a grease cleaner and was hospitalized with suspected esophageal burns.
Two 1-year and 3-month-old twin boys were poisoned by rodenticide. Their condition is stable, and they were hospitalized for observation.

The Emergency Medical Center urges parents to closely supervise their children, explain the dangers of unfamiliar substances, and keep medications and cleaning agents out of reach. In case of suspected poisoning or burns, immediately call 103. Every moment can be crucial for a child's health and safety.
