As of the morning of April 21, 2024, electricity consumption in Ukraine has decreased by 12.6% compared to the previous working day - April 18.

NEC “Ukrenergo” announced on Facebook that electricity consumption in Ukraine continues to decline, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Today, April 21, at 9:30, the level of electricity consumption was 12.6% lower than on April 18. This is due to a non-working day declared by some employers,” the agency quotes.

Additionally, sunny and warm weather across Ukraine contributes to a reduction in electricity usage from the overall grid.

Ukrenergo advises shifting active energy consumption to the hours of most efficient operation of solar power plants, using high-powered devices from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

It’s worth noting that a week ago, on April 15, the heating season for 2024/2025 officially ended in Ukraine.

Heat supply has been terminated in all regions, but several social institutions – hospitals, kindergartens, and schools – will continue to temporarily receive heating under certain temperature conditions.

How many times has the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine's energy system during the heating season?

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the third heating season has been successfully completed amidst full-scale war, despite numerous Russian attacks on the country’s energy system.

According to him, during the 2024/2025 heating season, Russia conducted 9 massive and dozens of smaller attacks against the Ukrainian energy system.

“Despite all this, we endured. Homes of millions of Ukrainians, schools, and hospitals had light and heat. Our enterprises also operated without significant restrictions,” the Prime Minister said.
