On December 5, 2024, a conference titled «Accessibility in Tourism» was held in Odesa.

The aim of the event was to unite efforts of the city authorities and businesses to enhance accessibility in the tourism sector.

This topic has been identified as a priority by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine for 2024.

Despite the challenges posed by wartime, Odesa continues to welcome both local and international tourists, making it crucial to focus on infrastructure accessibility for all.

The conference brought together individuals with disabilities, government representatives, and business leaders to discuss the accessibility of cultural and tourism facilities, as well as issues related to medical tourism.

«We are creating conditions that allow every resident and guest of the city to move freely and access necessary services. Hotels, restaurants, museums, and public transport must all be accessible to people with disabilities,» said the Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Additionally, during the discussions, participants reviewed the current state of affairs, future plans, grant programs, and the involvement of business in developing an accessible environment in Odesa.
