Today in the City Garden, we celebrated the Ukrainian heritage of Odesa, exploring the contributions of Yuriy Lipa and other influential figures who shaped the Ukrainian spirit in our city.
Among them are Ivan Lipa, Andriy Nikovsky, Mykhailo Komarov, Margarita Komarova-Syderenko, and Serhiy Shelukhin.
We sincerely thank everyone who joined us! You made this day unforgettable.
This initiative brings back Ukrainian meanings into the public space of Odesa through art, words, and history. We honor the figures that embody the depth of the idea: Odesa — a Ukrainian city that should resonate with dignity, memory, and cultural strength.
Later today at 20:00 — a special episode of the podcast “Cultimatic,” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Yuriy Lipa.
The guest is historian and publicist Ihor Stambol.
We discuss the influence of the Lipa family on the Ukrainian identity of Odesa, the role of “Prosvita,” and culture as a form of struggle.
