In January of this year, educators who will teach the subject «Defending Ukraine» participated in a practical firearms training seminar organized by the NGO «Sports Shooting Club «Barrel».
Teachers received valuable theoretical and practical knowledge about various types of firearms from professional instructors.
During the seminar, participants improved their skills in safety, teaching shooting methods, and working with combat equipment.
The event was organized by the Municipal Institution of Extracurricular Education «Odesa City Center for Military-Patriotic Education» with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.
An open lesson on the subject «Defending Ukraine» was held at Odesa Lyceum No. 1 named after A.P. Bystrynia, conducted by Honored Teacher of Ukraine Oleg Denysov.

The new model curriculum «Defending Ukraine. Integrated Course» aims to develop patriotic consciousness and practical skills for saving lives. Its uniqueness lies in providing a unified content for all students, ensuring equal opportunities in acquiring essential skills.
With the updated program “Defending Ukraine”, high school students will be able to:
- learn about different types of drones and their applications;
- provide first aid in combat situations;
- shoot firearms;
- understand what information warfare is and how to resist enemy information-psychological operations (IPSO).
